two weeks

It is exactly two weeks to the day that I am leaving... It all kind of hit me last night as I was lying in bed. I know I'm not leaving for a huge amount of time, it's only 3 months, but I've never done anything like this before. I've always wanted control of my surroundings and my circumstances. I have to give that up and journey into the unknown and that makes me just a little nervous. This will definately be a stretch for me, but will ulitmately help me to grow in unique ways. I praise God for that!
I feel like there is so much that I want to do and so many people I want to connect with before I leave. I've been telling people that they have to get in touch with me if they want to hang out or talk before I go because there is no way I'll remember everyone! If you are reading this and we don't get a chance to connect in these two short weeks, then I apologize... but it's only because you didn't call me!

Eric,

You can count on Kevin and I to be praying for you while you're on your adventure. I'm certain this will stretch you in ways that you can not even imagine at this point and the effects of this trip will be a very important point of reference in shaping your future.

I have "The Essential C. S. Lewis" and ""The Collected Works of C.S. Lewis" as well as" Wild At Heart" if you want them to take with you on your trip. I can throw in "The Second Coming of the Church" by George Barna to up the ante if you want to consider some thoughts on how to address with the church here at home when you return. All yours to borrow - just let me know.

Actually, you're wise to make this move now - wait much longer and you would be consumed by the repsonsibilities of "the real world" and you would probably never make it (1 Corinthians 7:29 - 35).

God bless you - let me know if you want some books!

Yours In Him - Rick

eric,
are you going to homecoming this friday?
maybe we'll see you there....we might have everyone over after the game too.
we'd like to spend more personal time with you than that before you leave, but with your popularity, that might just be all we can hope for.
